Sheltering my children

That word, sheltering, has gotten a bad reputation. However, God is referred to in the bible as our shelter…he protects us in the storm. I have always thought of that kind of sheltering when it comes to my kids. We help protect them from storms and even sometimes during the storms by teaching them the best way to live through God’s word. I’m so thankful today that I have ‘sheltered’ my children. They have not been exposed to certain temptations since we homeschool that they aren’t prepared to handle….hence they are not suffering from the consequences of NOT saying no to drugs, sex, etc. My heart goes out today to one I know who is suffering, but I’m also rejoicing because in Christ he can become new! And I am confirmed in my choice to continue keeping my children home, despite what others may think.
