Memories are the minds way of cataloging our past. It takes the good ones and keeps them filed in the front and the ones that are painful and difficult and files them in the back. The more good memories the further back the not so pleasant go until they are nearly forgotten. This is a gift extrordinaire! Later, if and when we are ready, we can explore the not so good and discover what made it unpleasant and then deal with the issue at hand and put it back in the file under resolved, redeemed, restored!
That happened for me this weekend at a class reunion. Old memories tackled, new memories made, sweet memories savored. The gift of life remembered, recognized and relished. Memories are snapshots of a life lived filling annuals year after year.
