Just within the last week and a half, I had the chance to visit with two separate people from my church who have both been “shut-in” for years. They were both in their 80s and sturggling with health problems. Both of them had financially and prayerfully supported me this past year, while I served as a missionary in SE Asia. I went to visit each of them to say thank you and to encourage them. Instead, I left encouraged by the testimony of their lives lived for Christ. The man recites verses from the psalms to himself in his moments of need, as he cannot see anymore to read from his Bible. The woman I saw on Wednesday in hospice care had chosen to forego any dialysis treatments–she was prepared to see her lord. That dear woman and honorable man each went to be with Jesus on Wednesday night and Thursday morning. respectively. Thank you Lord, for their lives.
