I am so thankful for One Thousand Gifts and what it as spurred in the ladies of our church. We read the book last year for a Book Discussion Group and then decided we would get together a year later to celebrate God’s goodness. Last night was our Gratitude Celebration. We ate, had fellowship and amazing worship. It was so exciting to hear the ladies share how they saw God and how loved they felt as they saw things in a new light and how they were choosing to write down thanks in the middle of the dark times too.
One of the ladies was given a special gift as she was reading the book, she found a nest with three blue eggs sitting on a tire in her back yard. It looked like the cover of the book. She took a picture and pasted it to her journal. She told us how loved she felt by God and was excited to share with us.
God is in the details. This message kept coming forth again and again. I am thankful that so many of my sisters in the Lord took this challenge and how it has changed the way they see things. God is so good. We are all thankful for this wonderful reminder to be on the look out for the signs and gifts of an amazingly good and loving God who is so big and powerful and so personal and intimate.
