grateful for grief

I give thanks for a history of grieving–an early loss of my mother, an infant nephew, a young uncle, a stepmom who left, the unreality of my perfect marriage…  I run now with hands open to the blessing of loving and honoring my mother’s friends, of weeping with those who weep, of seeing my marriage as a raw, ever changing, growing thing, and the blessing of three young sons who are joyful, sympathetic, and hungry for the heart of God…
