I chose this date, April 5th, as my wedding day because my great grandparents had been married on this date and were together over 60 years. That is what I wanted. God had a different plan. He gave me 34 years, 3 months, and 2 weeks and then he called him home to glory. As I reflect on this our anniversary eve, I am thankful! I could list 1000 gifts given during our years together bound as a three strand cord of love and unity. I am thankful God called him home and ended his pain and suffering, thankful he gave us the years to see our children grown and educated, thankful for the fun, family and faith we shared. To be married to a man after God’s heart is a privilege and an honor. Now I wait for the time when we will be together again worshipping the Lamb and celebrating at the marriage feast of Christ and His bride. Yes, today is hard in many ways, but by choosing to focus on the gifts, the tears spill happy joy and fond memories. Only eucharisteo could do that! It is a miracle.
