I am linking up today with Ann Voskamp of A Holy Experience, who invites us to count our gifts of gratitude.
Beginning my gratitude list. Where to start?
0001. Why not in the WORD?
Word in Greek is Logos;to speak, intelligence, a word as the expression of the intelligence. (The Complete Word Study New Testament)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was with God in the beginning.
3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.
5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
Jesus our Logos. Our beginning. When all else falls apart on this earth, we can rest upon the WORD, be strengthened by the WORD, know the WORD. Know Jesus. He is the Good News, the Gospel, from which we read the WORDS which set us free, give us meaning & purpose & hope. He is the WORD of the cross, the WORD of life, the living WORD, the WORD that dwells within us and reveals the Father’s glory.
I am grateful for this WORD which came during my deep cave-darkness and shed light in hidden corners, even rooms that I did not know were there. The WORD shining brightly upon a new path. Thank you Lord, that you have given us a piece of yourself, the WORD by which we have the ability to even think of You. Thank you for revealing yourself through your WORD.
For your WORD I am grateful.
